The package on mu 2008.9 updated os can't satisfy some dependences. And obviously can't install the package.
This is the output:
Downloading http://www.mumpot.org/download/mumpot_0.3.1-r0_armv4t.ipk
Installing mumpot (0.3.1-r0) to root...
Collected errors:
* ERROR: Cannot satisfy the following dependencies for mumpot:
* gtk+ (>= 2.12.11) * libcairo2 (>= 1.6.4) * libglib-2.0-0 (>= 2.16.4) * libbluetooth2 (>= 3.28) *

I don't understand now why that happens. The dependencies seems to be a bit too strict.
I'm just updating my oe tree and try to run bitbake again to get sane dependencies. In the meantime opkg -force-deps seems so solve problems as these are only minor version conflicts.

You have to use the test repo in order to satisfy the dependencies.

quite nice one -- Thanks!!! can\'t figure out how to clean up the drawn lines though to select smaller area for OSM download(without restarting the beastie), but it feels very nice -- even just for tiles drawing more responsive than tangogps imho... very cool

I only wish that you improve it further and further! Good luck!

The dependency problem should now be fixed,
At least it works for me with plain Om2008.9 now

lines clean up works now by moving your finger from bottom to top on the map

new version is out, with OSM API 0.6 compability and direct upload support and other new features, including a statistics window. I hope dependencies are now satisfied everywhere

My ideas:
Your app creates a ~/.mumpot/tiles/ directory and there are tilesXX directories again in. Compared to e.g. TangoGPS the prefix for the numbered directories should be removed so we can symlink the ~/.mumpot/tiles/ to e.g. /media/card/Maps/OSM/ or so. ;) This would save a lot space on my card.

And the startup is freezing or extremely slow...

hmm, for some reason I did not get this comment
There is the line
filepattern \"~/.mumpot/tiles/tiles%Z/%05X/%03Y\"
in the configfiles (mumpot-tah,mumpot-cyclemap,mumpot-mapnik)
you can copy your preferred one to ~/.mumpot/map.conf
and edit it there.

Is the startup also slow or hanging when there are definitively no DNS problems
and map tiles are available at the starting place?
